FAQ

Common questions

How much should I charge to manage Google Ads?

There is no single right number. A common range is 10 to 20 percent of managed spend, with higher percentages on smaller budgets and lower percentages on larger ones. Freelancers and smaller agencies often use a flat monthly retainer instead, typically starting around a few hundred per account. The right price is the one that reflects the scope, the results you deliver and the value to the client, not just the budget size.

Percentage of spend vs flat fee, which is better?

Percentage of spend scales your fee with the account but can misalign incentives, since raising spend also raises your fee. Flat fees are simpler and more predictable for both sides, and let you optimise for results without touching your own income. Many operators use a hybrid, a flat base plus a smaller percentage or a performance bonus.

Should I charge more for smaller accounts?

Usually yes, on a percentage basis. Small accounts take a similar amount of work to set up and monitor as medium ones, so a 10 percent fee on a small budget often does not cover the time. Either use a higher percentage on small budgets or a flat minimum retainer.
